III. International Hittite Security Studies Congress Completed


The “III. International Hittite Security Studies Congress,” organized by our department, has been completed. During the three-day congress, papers were presented both in person and online.

The third edition of the International Hittite Security Studies Congress, organized by Hitit University since 2021, took place with a total of 128 academics and researchers from 5 different countries presenting their papers.

  • Opening Ceremony: The opening program of the congress was held at the Ethem Erkoç Conference Hall in the Hitit University Vocational Schools Campus. During the opening, Department Head Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sami Kiraz, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Prof. Dr. Sabiha Kılıç, and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Halil İbrahim Şimşek shared information about the congress theme and participants in their speeches.

  • Opening Panel: Under the moderation of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sami Kiraz, the opening panel featured presentations on "Searches for Peace and Security in the Global Agenda" by Prof. Dr. Haldun Yalçınkaya (TOBB ETU), Prof. Dr. Özlem Tür-Küçükkaya (METU), and Prof. Dr. Serhat Erkmen (TERAM Chief Advisor).

  • Participation Details: The congress consisted of face-to-face sessions on the first day and online sessions on the second and third days. A total of 128 academics and researchers from 58 different institutions presented their papers across 30 sessions.
